Hammerschmiede samt Kohlenschuppen, St. Anna Schmiede

Vils, Tirol

Below the ruined castle of Vilsegg, next to St. Anna church, stands a hammer forge whose origins go back to the Middle Ages. Weapons were once forged here for the knights of the castle. The water wheels, forge hearth and hammers can still be seen in their original state, and a small exhibition shows historical finds from the salt road.
