Museum der Deutschen Binnenschifffahrt

Duisburg, Nordrhein-Westfalen

In Duisburg's Ruhrort district, where Europe's largest inland harbour complex began, this museum traces the technical, economic and social history of inland shipping. It occupies a former Art Nouveau swimming baths from 1910. In the old men's pool hall lies the Dutch tjalk Goede Verwachting, sails hoisted. The museum ship Oscar Huber is also part of the collection.
