Museum am Meer
Büsum, Schleswig-Holstein
This museum right on the harbour basin in Büsum explains what the town lives from: shrimp fishing and processing on the North Sea, plus the story of tourism in the resort. A film room shows features on shrimping, the 1962 storm surge and mudflat surveying, and you can try a simulated trip in the wheelhouse of a shrimp cutter. Outside lies the cutter Leonore Johanna from 1920, with cut-outs in the hull so you can look inside. The aquarium downstairs is in the same building, and a combined ticket covers both.
