Eppingen, Baden-Württemberg
Built in 1863, the old smithy in Mühlbach stayed a working forge through five generations, the last smith, Reinhard Moser, working until he was 80. It shows why the village's stonemasons depended on the smith: for sharpening tools and shoeing horses. The Steinhauermuseum is only a few steps away, and the two can be visited together. Admission is free.
