Coins, medals and the history of money are the subject here, in the Bode Museum on Museum Island. It is the largest collection of its kind in Germany. Its roots lie in the art chamber of the Brandenburg electors, and an inventory of 1649 already listed around 5000 coins, mostly ancient.
