LWL-Römermuseum Haltern am See

Haltern am See, Nordrhein-Westfalen

Haltern was one of Rome's key bases in Germania in the early first century AD, and this museum shows the most important finds from the Roman camps along the River Lippe. Opened in 1993, it tells of the Roman campaigns and the soldiers' lives. At that time more legionaries were stationed at Haltern than anywhere else in the empire.
