Stadt- und Heimatmuseum Marl

This local history museum tells the story of Marl in an old water mill, its threshing barn and the Scherer villa. The mill was first recorded in 1415 and worked until 1927; its grain mill is complete and still in working order. In the cellar stands a reconstruction of a coal-face support from the Auguste Victoria colliery, and the ground floor shows textile craft tools and household furnishings of the 18th and 19th centuries. Farm implements in the barn illustrate small-farm life.
