Lutherhaus Eisenach
Eisenach, Thüringen
Half-timbered walls on Lutherplatz hold the story of Martin Luther's schooldays: tradition says he lodged here with the Cotta family between 1498 and 1501. The house is among the oldest surviving timber-framed buildings in Thuringia and now works as a museum of cultural history devoted to the Reformation. It is a natural stop for anyone tracing Luther's Eisenach years, and it has held European cultural heritage status since 2011.
