Lindenau-Museum

Altenburg, Thüringen

The collection of Altenburg statesman Bernhard August von Lindenau shapes this art museum. Its 180 early Italian panel paintings form the largest specialised collection of its kind outside Italy, with works by Filippo Lippi, Botticelli and Fra Angelico. There are also antiquities, paintings from the 16th to 20th centuries and a graphics collection focused on the art of the 1920s.
