Linden-Museum

Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg

Masks, ritual objects and everyday things from nearly every part of the world fill this ethnology museum on Hegelplatz. Its roughly 160,000 pieces come from Africa, North and Latin America, the Islamic Near East, South, Southeast and East Asia, and Oceania. The building went up in 1911 specifically for the collection and carries the name of Count Karl von Linden, who drove its early growth. Alongside the permanent displays, there are changing special shows.
