Lechmuseum Bayern

Langweid am Lech, Bayern

A castle-like brick building from 1906 on the Lech canal houses both a hydropower station and the museum. Downstairs you can walk through a decommissioned Francis turbine and generator; upstairs, an exhibition presents the Lech as landscape, economic force and stage of history, along with hydropower and electricity. A documentary and hands-on stations suit children, and a trail runs outside around the plant. The site is part of the Augsburg Water Management System World Heritage.
