Kunstsammlungen der Veste Coburg

Coburg, Bayern

The collections of the Dukes of Coburg are housed in the Veste Coburg, a fortress dating from around 1200 that sheltered Martin Luther in 1530. Four strengths define them: the print room, glass, historic weapons, and Old German painting, especially Lucas Cranach the Elder and his circle. The European Museum of Modern Glass in Rödental belongs to the collections too.
