Kunsthaus Graz

Graz, Steiermark

A blue, rounded body rising beside the red tile roofs of Graz's old town, the Kunsthaus was built for the 2003 European Capital of Culture. Designed by Peter Cook and Colin Fournier and nicknamed the Friendly Alien, it is an example of blob architecture and incorporates the façade of the older Iron House. Inside, it shows contemporary art of recent decades.
