Kraftwerk Ermen & Engels
Engelskirchen, Nordrhein-Westfalen
This former cotton mill on the River Agger has a hydroelectric power plant that now forms part of the LVR Industrial Museum. It tells of the textile industry in the Bergisches Land and of the firm Ermen & Engels, which took that name in 1838. It is a good stop for anyone curious about industrial history and how a factory made its own power.
