Knoblauchhaus
Berlin, Berlin
Built in 1759–61 on Poststraße in the Nikolaiviertel, this house stayed with the Berlin merchant family Knoblauch for 170 years. It came through the Second World War largely unharmed and is one of the few 18th-century townhouses left in Berlin. The permanent exhibition on the two upper floors shows middle-class Biedermeier interiors and tells the family's story.
