Kaisenhaus-Museum
Bremen, Freie Hansestadt Bremen
After the Second World War, people in Bremen were allowed to live in allotment gardens because the city lay in ruins; the houses are named after mayor Wilhelm Kaisen. This 1957 house in the Waller Feldmark is one of the few that survived and now serves as a memorial site. Everyday objects from the postwar years sit alongside eleven large panels of photographs and explanations on the rebuilding era.
