Altes Pumpwerk

Bremen, Freie Hansestadt Bremen

A disused sewage pumping station in Findorff now tells the technical and cultural history of wastewater disposal in Bremen. From 1915 to 1994 it pumped a large share of the city's sewage into the Weser. The building, in reform architecture with neo-Baroque touches, is a listed monument. Former employees set up the association that runs it, in 1997.
