HMS Otus
Sassnitz, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
A British Oberon-class submarine lies in Sassnitz as a museum ship. Commissioned in 1963, Otus served in the Royal Navy and in 1987 took part in escape trials in a Norwegian fjord, where two submariners reached an escape depth of 183 metres, a record that still stands. Visitors can see inside a genuine Cold War-era boat.
