Heimatmuseum Ruhpolding

The former ducal hunting lodge in Ruhpolding now holds a local history museum showing how villagers once lived, cooked, ate and worked. You will find farmhouse furniture, boldly painted chests, a large canopy bed, craftsmen's tools and an extensive collection of weapons. The oldest piece is a 15th-century sword engraved with wolves; later items include a Ruhpolding stagecoach from 1852, penny-farthings and the village's first skis.
