Heimatmuseum Oberstdorf

Oberstdorf, Bayern

Oberstdorf's Köcherlerhaus dates from 1620 and is one of the few farmhouses in the village centre to survive the great fire of 1865. Its 38 low, panelled rooms hold displays on crafts, farming and alpine dairying, hunting, mountaineering, music and local customs. The star piece is the world's largest leather ski boot, made by a local cobbler in 1950.
