Heimatmuseum Mellrichstadt

Mellrichstadt, Bayern

Housed in a sixteenth-century half-timbered building just outside the town centre, this local museum shows how people worked and lived in the countryside around 1900. Three floors hold mostly farming and craft tools from the surrounding area, dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries: butter churns, cream separators, an oil press, cider presses and a farmyard repair corner full of tools. A complete village shop from about 1900, a classroom from about 1930 and a section on home butchering round off the visit.
