Heimatmuseum Bezau

Bezau, Vorarlberg

This 18th-century Bregenzerwald farmhouse, a shingled timber-built house, now serves as a museum. You enter through the shed into the kitchen with its open hearth, then the parlour with a clay stove and the parents' bedroom, the Gado. Folk-life and religious objects are on show, along with a gallery of notable people from the Bregenzerwald. A timber extension added in 2024 won an Austrian architecture award.
