Heimat- und Uhrenmuseum Schwenningen

Villingen-Schwenningen, Baden-Württemberg

A half-timbered house from the early 18th century, once a teacher's home and a museum since 1931, presents the local history and culture of Schwenningen. One display is about the Alamanni at the Neckar source, with finds from the burial ground and a facial reconstruction of an Alamannic woman. Another covers carting and haulage, especially salt transport, with a restored 19th-century horse harness. Historic farmhouse parlours complete the visit.
