Gerhart-Hauptmann-Museum

Vorpommern-Rügen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Gerhart Hauptmann spent every summer from 1930 to 1943 in his house Seedorn in Kloster on Hiddensee. It remains as he lived in it and is one of the few writers' houses preserved in its original state. His study and evening room, the bedrooms, cloister, wine cellar, terrace and garden show how he lived here. Two small display cases cover his life and work, and his grave is in the island cemetery.
