Ozeaneum Stralsund

The sea on Germany's doorstep is the subject here. On Stralsund's harbour island, aquariums show marine habitats of the Baltic, the North Sea and the North Atlantic, the largest holding 2.6 million litres of water. Exhibitions cover the diversity of ocean life, the Baltic, marine research and use, and life-size giants of the sea, and there is an area for children. It was named European Museum of the Year in 2010.
