Gerbereimuseum Enger
Enger, Nordrhein-Westfalen
Leather was made in this Enger tannery for over 250 years, until it closed in 1995. It is now a listed craft museum with restored chrome-tanning machinery. The tour follows the leather through five stations: soaking and liming, fleshing and splitting, tanning, shaving and dyeing, and finally staking, ironing and measuring.
