Dobergmuseum
Bünde, Nordrhein-Westfalen
Fossils from the nearby Doberg make up the core of this geological museum. The Doberg is the reference site for the Oligocene, and its layers record the sea that once covered the area. The best-known piece is the petrified skeleton of a sea cow, shown alongside fossil imprints of animals and plants and parts of a toothed whale. In the garden stands a cast of dinosaur tracks from the Early Cretaceous.
