Feuerschiff Borkumriff
Borkum, Niedersachsen
Out in the German Bight, some 30 kilometres northwest of Borkum, a lightship once marked one of the main shipping routes. The Borkumriff station was manned from 1875 to 1988, with four successive ships serving there. For visitors to Borkum, it is a piece of maritime and technical history.
