Feuchtmayer Museum
Salem, Baden-Württemberg
This is the house in Mimmenhausen, now part of Salem, where the Baroque sculptor Joseph Anton Feuchtmayer lived and worked. The museum explains how his wood and stucco figures came about and how stucco marble was made, with copies of his drawings and a record of his work for the pilgrimage church at Birnau and Salem Abbey. Feuchtmayer bought the building from Salem monastery in 1730, and eight journeymen worked for him here.
