Deutsches Taubenmuseum

Nürnberg, Bayern

Pigeons in every role are the subject here: fancy breeds, racing and homing pigeons, and the wider world of poultry breeding. In the Kettelersiedlung district, about 700 square metres display roughly two thirds of a collection of more than 40,000 items, including specialist books, postcards, stamps, certificates, medals and posters. Some pieces date back to the 16th century. The museum grew out of a private collection and is said to be the only one of its kind in the world.
