An ordinary East German flat turned into a trip back in time: in Hellersdorf, a three-room apartment of 61 square metres, completed in 1986, has been returned almost entirely to its original state. Its furniture and everyday objects are preserved down to the smallest detail, giving a direct feel for GDR home life. It has been open to visitors on the ground floor of Hellersdorfer Straße 179 since 2004.
