Christian Daniel Rauch Museum
Bad Arolsen, Hessen
In the baroque royal stables of 1755, opposite the palace, the museum shows sculpture selected from Berlin's Alte Nationalgalerie. The focus is on Christian Daniel Rauch, born in Arolsen in 1777 and regarded as a leading master of German Neoclassicism. Further works trace sculpture in the age of Goethe and its links to antiquity. Horses in the gable recall the building's original use as a stable.
