Chlupáčovo muzeum historie Země
Praha, Praha
This small university museum traces the history of life on Earth from the Palaeozoic to the Quaternary. Fossils fill the cases, some paired with models of the organisms, including finds from the Barrandian area and Czech Cretaceous rocks. The Chengjiang fauna is especially prized, with soft body parts preserved. The centrepiece is an eight-metre replica skeleton of the carnivorous Carnotaurus, the first dinosaur skeleton permanently displayed in Czechia. Prehistoric paintings by Petr Modlitba complete the show.
