Muzeum v podskalské celnici na Výtoni

Praha, Praha

This two-storey stone building on the Výtoň stretch of the Vltava embankment began life in the 15th century as a customs house for the Podskalí rafters, and its rusticated portal and interior date from around 1600. The museum is devoted to Podskalí and life on the river, covering timber rafting, cargo and passenger shipping, and the history of the district. A model shows Podskalí as it was before any bridges or embankment walls existed.
