Carl-Julius-Weber-Gedenkstube
Langenburg, Baden-Württemberg
A single room in Langenburg's town hall honours the satirist Carl Julius Weber, who was born in this very house. It holds furniture from his day, a few of his personal belongings and a collection of his writings, among them his letters of a German travelling through Germany and his Democritus papers of a laughing philosopher. The room also remembers Agnes Günther, who lived in Langenburg as a dean's wife and wrote her novel Die Heilige und ihr Narr here, with books and pictures of hers on show. The room doubles as a wedding room.
