Bergbau- und Industriemuseum Ostbayern

Kümmersbruck, Bayern

In the former hammer-master's castle at Theuern, this museum documents mining and industry across eastern Bavaria. The Upper Palatinate was long a centre of iron ore extraction, with ironworks and mine shafts, and kaolin mining supplied the porcelain industry. Its emblem of three flames comes from the mark stamped on products of the Theuern hammer. The museum has occupied the castle since 1978.
