Bayerisches Bäckereimuseum

Kulmbach, Bayern

Bread is the whole subject here. Over 1,000 square metres, the route runs from ancient Egypt through Roman times and the Middle Ages to the present day. You will see a small bakehouse from the 17th century and a mill rebuilt over three floors, first mentioned in 1526, which shows the miller's work step by step. Displays also cover how historic mills were driven and the different kinds of flour. It sits in the Mönchshof in Kulmbach, in the same complex as the brewery and spice museums.
