Ausstellungszentrum für die Archäologie des Emslandes

Meppen, Niedersachsen

How did people in the Emsland live, from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages? The permanent exhibition answers with finds, models and drawings, covering Neolithic house building, Bronze and Iron Age material culture and burial customs, and settlements of the Roman imperial period. The museum is a modern building set within a classicist complex at the Koppelschleuse, and since 2020 it also houses Meppen's town museum.
