Arbeitsgemeinschaft Geesthachter Eisenbahn

Hamburg, Hamburg

Railway enthusiasts keep alive the story of the small-gauge line between Bergedorf and Geesthacht here. They tracked down surviving vehicles of the line across West Germany and bought them. The fleet includes the Danish steam locomotive Q 350, nicknamed Karoline, built in 1945 as a shunting engine, with about 550 horsepower and a top speed of 45 km/h.
