Ackerbürgermuseum Haus Leck

Grebenstein, Hessen

A half-timbered house from 1431 with a steep sandstone-slab roof, among the oldest buildings in Grebenstein, shows how the town's farming citizens worked and lived. The ground floor has farm tools, a shoemaker's workshop, and a kitchen with an open hearth plus living and sleeping rooms. Upstairs are traces of local crafts and guilds, and the attic holds equipment for flax, spinning and weaving. A doll's house from around 1880 is also on show.
