Isis-Museum

Beneath the Römerpassage shopping arcade in Mainz lies a Roman sanctuary dedicated to Isis and Mater Magna. From the Taberna archaeologica on the ground floor, steps lead down to the excavation site. In a multimedia space you can see the temple's foundations, votive and sacrificial offerings, curse tablets and other preserved remains. It is the only excavated temple of its kind devoted to Isis in Germany.
