This museum is all about marionette theatre, and it belongs to the Augsburg Puppenkiste, the stage that generations of German children know from television. It stands in the old Heilig-Geist-Spital in the historic centre, where the company has performed fairy tales and serious plays since 1948. Among the stories that made the house famous are Jim Knopf and Urmel.
