The museum occupies a modern building from 1988, part of the bishop's curia complex in Pelplin. Most of its collection is Gothic sculpture from churches of the former Chełmno diocese, together with late Gothic Passion paintings such as the Crucifixion from Lignowy. The highlight is a copy of the Gutenberg Bible, the only one in Poland.
