Ziegeleimuseum Jockgrim

Jockgrim, Rheinland-Pfalz

Jockgrim once had one of the largest brickworks in the world, and this museum in the restored press house of the Ludowici roof-tile works tells its hundred-year story, from clay digging to dispatch, along with the products, the company and the village's growth. Part of the ring kiln survives, originally 90 metres long and six storeys high. Outside you will find a restored, fully working revolver press and a Kugelhaus, a 4.50-metre spherical home prototype that never went into production.
