Zeiteninsel

This archaeological open-air museum brings the prehistory and Middle Ages of the Lahn valley to life. It lies on a newly created island in an arm of the Allna river, right on the Lahn cycle path between Gießen and Marburg. It builds on finds from around the nearby gravel works, ranging from the Mesolithic to the Roman Imperial period, plus traces of a high and late medieval settlement on a former peninsula.
