Winterpalais Prinz Eugen

Wien, Wien

This high-Baroque town palace at Himmelpfortgasse 8 was Prince Eugene of Savoy's winter residence, while he spent summers at the Belvedere. It was designed by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach and Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt. The state rooms on the main floor were carefully restored to their original look. Since 2017 the finance ministry has used them again, so they are no longer open as a museum.
