Weberei Tannenhauer Inselsteig 16, Braunsdorf

Niederwiesa, Sachsen

Beside the Zschopau in Braunsdorf, this show weaving mill lets you see how textiles were once made. The listed factory building dates from around 1800 and first housed a spinning mill, later a wool-washing works, a dye house and a felt factory. From 1910 it was used for weaving upholstery fabrics, and the building was reinforced to carry heavy mechanical looms. Today it tells the story of Saxony's textile industry.
