Wäschepflegemuseum Schönbach

Washing and ironing, once laborious work done mostly by women, are the theme here. You will see wooden washing machines, washing bells, and irons and ironing machines through the ages, up to the modern drum washer. Helmut Knogler assembled the collection between 1996 and 2008; since 2017 it has been shown in Schönbach's community centre, alongside the Kloster-Schul-Werkstätten, where old crafts such as soap boiling are practised.
