Völkerkundliches Museum Witzenhausen

The ethnographic collection began around 1900, when graduates of the German Colonial School in Witzenhausen sent finds from the colonies back to their old school. It includes everyday objects, jewellery, weapons, religious items, minerals, plants and hides, with later gifts from people working in development cooperation abroad. The collection also confronts its own colonial origins.
