Villa rustica
Peiting, Bayern
A Roman farm estate from the 2nd to 4th century lies on the edge of Peiting, in what was the province of Raetia. Covering about 2.5 hectares, it ranks among the largest of its kind there. You can see the excavated main building, whose architecture is rather unusual for Roman buildings north of the Alps. The remains were discovered in 1956.
